I just came across another interesting mashup, this time with Yahoo maps. The title of the page is “Yahoo! NewsGlobe” and it pinpoints the top news stories around the globe using varying length bars that indicate how popular the story is. There are two modes that you can use to browse the “top stories”, “autoplay” and “interactive”. Autoplay which lets you sit back and watch, and “Interactive” in which you can control the globe and browse at your own speed.
I used the site for a few minutes, while it’s an interesting idea the interface seems like it’s in beta to me, it’s almost as if something is missing.
