Yet another company is caving into Hollywood. Adobe has decided to place DRM on top of their latest version of Flash for video. This is a bold move considering Microsoft is trying to push Silverlight. Tick off enough developers and they just might jump ship into a Silverlight dinghy. It’s not that Silverlight doesn’t use DRM technology, but it’s more about developers making a statement. Some developers will be happy about this latest move by Adobe, but more of them wont.
Some of the best content is best served without DRM. Adobe has completely dropping the ball on this one. Have they not seen what DRM hasn’t done for other products… it’s basically just an annoyance and nothing more.
