Quake Live

February 23rd, 2008 · No Comments

Quake LiveIn an announcement from the Game Developers Conference this week, id Software says they will team up with IGA Worldwide (an in-game advertising network) to bring Quake, free of charge to your web browser. The game will be called “Quake Live”.

This is an interesting idea, though it’s been talked about for over a year now. It should catch on almost immediately and quickly become popular, maybe even a trend more game developers will start to follow. There are a few features that are expected from Quake Live including stat-tracking, friends lists, sponsored tournaments and matchmaking.

While the game is still in beta you can sign up by visiting quakelive.com.
