Mozilla is prepping a project to transform the extension ecosystem for their Firefox web browser. The potential for new extensions will skyrocket as anyone will be an extension author in the near future because Jetpack will base extensions on common web technogies meaning if you can build a web page you can build a Jetpack extension. Jetpack is very impressive, and two things are very exciting about it including not having to restart Firefox after a Jetpack extension install and the ease of use of the Jetpack framework to create new extensions.
